The Power of Repetition in Asanas!

Yoga Sutra 1.14, sa tu dirghakala nairantarya satkarasevito drdhabhumih:

There are 3 conditions for practice: it should be practiced with complete faith; it should continue uninterrupted and it should go on for quite a long time.

For the magic to happen long constant efforts with great love is the only way. Repetition is key in achieving mastery of any asana.

With repetition, the movements become more automatic and intuitive through muscle memory and brings regularity, precision and improvement within an asana creating a strong base.

Repeating asanas brings more focus to the mind transforming your practice to a meditative experience. Only through repetition we are able to focus on the breath of each movement. Focusing on new sequences will occupy your thoughts of where your hand and foot should be and what pose comes next.

Yoga sutra 2.46: sthiramsukhamasanam -Steady and comfortable should be the posture

The yoga postures are to be done with steadiness and ease. It is important to slow your practice down and feel each movement with breath. Only through steadiness will you take your practice to an entirely new level.

Yoga is all about discipline and setting a routine cultivates a deeper exploration and understanding of mind, body, breath.

When repeating asanas it's essential to bring attention to your body and listen to any signals of discomfort.
